Music in the Park (Steilacoom, WA)

On July 13, 2016, the American Lake BRC Veterans were taken to see the 204th Army Band perform at picturesque Pioneer Park as part of the Town of Steilacoom summer concert series.  It was a beautiful sunny evening spent listening to lively music as the crowd gazed out at the Puget Sound.  The Veterans enjoyed a picnic meal while they listened to the band play many classic Army tunes.  Staff and Veterans alike were surprised to hear singers from the band belt out rock hits as well.

Building 2 Update

Building 2 on the American Lake Campus (Future home of the ALBRC)

The American Lake Blind Rehabilitation Center (ALBRC), currently in building 5 on the American Lake campus, has been slowly yet surely making progress towards moving to the top floor of building 2.  A new round of building rehabilitation is slated to start in 2016 with an expected completion and move sometime in 2017.  Not only will the new location give the ALBRC more space, but it will help the center offer a workout area, more manual skills opportunities, and a computer lab, among other things.

Check back for additional updates.
